On this little gem of a page, you can find my "reviews" for movies! As far as the reviews go, expect me to give the movie a fair go regardless of if it's an adaptation or original idea - although if I am familiar with the source, you can expect me to chime i on that as well. I've also provided amazon links at the end of each review, so if you see a movie you want to pick up you can provide a kickback to help the site keep trucking.
Search for genres (horror, sci fi) using this button.
View the Title List by clicking the clapper image to see movies by title (assuming its been reviewed). If you know a specific movie, use the search bar to speed things up. You can also click on a MPAA Rating bar to bring up a selection of 20 movies from my comrade TPBM and I each of that Rating. I'm looking into getting the limit to be expanded by my provider though, so don't stress too much, okay?
Although if I had to list my favorite spirits Christmas wouldn’t be the most fitting one for me, I feel like it’s getting close enough that I can pop a winter movie here or there and snot suffer too much. I mean, some of them are actually really good movies even if you didn’t like the holiday itself - and then some of them are cookie cutter flicks that you can’t tell apart, as with anything else in cinema really right? Well then, here’s one of Amazon’s newest pitches for the week - one that I was suprised to see streaming on Prime without me needing to do any rental or purchase option, as I had thought it was still in theaters or just got to be in theaters - sometimes I love it when there’s options! Anyways, like the gift of letting me watch a movie from home, let’s unwrap this present and mystery as to whose stealing Santa for Christmas in Red One.

I could pick a nice winter themed movie since it’s winter, but instead I picked something with bugs. Why? Honestly, because I watched it forever ago so in theory it makes the review part a lot quicker to do. Well, that and who knows, maybe it’ snot as bad as I remember it being. Everyone remembers the first movie, some of us have read the book and wondered how the two could end up being so functionally different - and a bunch of us must have watched the second movie because they gave us a third - and movie companies don’t do that if they don’t think they’ll make money. Funny part is, you never hear anyone talking about two or three - so heck with it, tonight we jump back into the front and watch Starship Troopers 2.

Snow and cold weather makes me even more lethargic than I usually am, and that says something. To perfectly reflect this, I’ve chosen a movie with a bit of a slower pacing - more of a mystery sort of flick. If I’m being honest, it’s way more just because I’ve meant to watch it for a while and not gotten around to it yet, and would like to do so before it goes away from the wonderful “Free with Ads” category on Amazon - I only get paid so much for my actual job after all, and holiday season usually takes little nibbles out for gifting and such. So brace yourself for a mouthful of a title that promises intrigue and potentially wacky antics that you probably wouldn’t have guessed was based on some real events - tonight we are watching Nandor Fodor and the Talking Mongoose.

One might think I’d do a nice family friendly movie today, since it’s literally Thanksgiving and that’s what the modern American rendition of the holiday is about on paper. Most would probably argue that consumerism has got it’s greedy little fingers all up in that and it’s now more just a stop-gap before Black Friday, which has pretty much taken over half the month now anyways. Well, I found something better to make you suffer with that might just cover all of that and some even darker elements like murder. Yeah, tonight we going to get a watching of Thanksgiving done before we head off to our own Thanksgiving.

I sorted out about six or seven different trailers for tonight’s choices of movie, and the winner was this here Asian - subtitles would tell me Korean to be specific - Netflix option. Sometimes it’s funny, as with the limited interactions I have with a wide swath of cultures (what with not making the kind of funds that would produce constant travel, and living in the middle of nowhere meaning even if i wanted to actively seek ti locally it’d be more likely I’d end up just talking to a lot of livestock who would talk back quite animatedly but way less understandably) I start looking back at some of the older movies I’ve watched and wonder how many of the specific Asian countries and regions I’ve totally been mistaking in them. I noticed it a while back when it came to noticing some similarities specifically in less swordplay and more martial arts related period Japanese and Chinese stuff, but then you realize just how much influence around the regions mixing there is in movies and it starts to get even more blurry - all of which to say that it’s probably obvious to someone whose well versed in it and they probably would have a good laugh about just how inept I am at telling different cultures apart until i get a large set of obviously labeled things to go off of. Anyways, rambling aside, tonight’s movie is just about what everyone is feeling after listening to me prattle on for so long about nothing -tonight is Uprising.

I sometimes wonder if I dream of the future. The vividness with which I can recall doing a review for a movie - down to the images I choose to use for the screen caps - is bizarre at best considering how averagely worthless my memory proves to be. Well, if my sleeping self can see the future, I’d certianly appreciate some winning lotto numbers so I could come into some good money with minimal effort. Tonight we hop into the car of easy money as well - although it’s only easy if your getaway guy is good. Better watch you watch, whether you are there on time or not this guy is gonna Drive.

On tonight’s edition of “I’m surprised I haven’t done that,” we’ll be hitting up a movie as old as I am with one of my favorite actors in it. Also with a director I really enjoy. Who happens to be a musician I like as well. Yeah, there’s a lot of me liking this - but that doesn’t mean it’s going to be all peachy clean and impressive stands right? Guess you’ll have to read or listen on to find out as tonight we visit what I think is the best thing to start with the words escape from - get your best edgy hero on, tonight it’s time to Escape from New York.

Tonight’s the perfect night for the right horror movie. Like the planets aligning, it’s a movie night that also is a Halloween night! Well, I already did a bunch of those movies, so it makes it a bit hard to line it up right - but I found a fix. Is it a trick or a treat? Regardless of your costume, tonight we are learning to hate commercials with Halloween 3.

I haven’t done a found footage flick in a while. I imagine a good chunk is them falling out of fashion again, but also just the innumerable amount of times that I’m let down by potential of what they could be instead of what they end up being. Well then, time to remedy that - in part thanks to a youtube channel I enjoy watching doing a history of the making video on it talking about how it came about being made. Sometimes, the universe just provides stuff for you and yuo don’t have to think - sometimes you should pay more attention where you are driving because it might have dire consequences. Might just run over a sasquatch, as tonight it Exists.

Can’t have a new movie in some of my favorite franchises without putting it on here right! Yep, to complete our Pokemon set, we get to delve into the newest flick that dropped just this week - it’s been a good month for releases between this and the newer Beetlejuice movie, if for nothing else but my nostalgia. We got our laughs out of the way last week, and too much laughing can cause some serious cramps, and that’s a horrific feature of the body. Speaking of body horror, scream all you want in space - it’s time for Alien: Romulus.

I promised some comedy, so I picked the comedy that would be the most terror-filled for a modern time - innuendo-laden inappropriate humor! A castle filled with so many spooks it’s positively trying to bust out. A ghoul with a pretty massive name. A flick so thrilling you’ll go stiff - with fear! This and other boob-themed jokes, tonight at nine with your hostess with the mostess as she takes us on an adventure to Elvira’s Haunted Hills.

It’s the month of spooks! You know what that means? It means I have a free license to force people into watching horror movies with me and they can’t complain! There’s some pretty good flicks coming out this month on digital that I look forward to - not all just child-traumatizing pure horror either, some have comedy in them too! We’ll cross those cursed bridges when we get there though, tonight we get something that’s ultra scary - a remake! As is the way of literary adaptations, one version is never enough and tonight we get to see if any improvements were made - tonight we check out a new take on a Stephen King reading that might suck the blood right out of you - tonight we visit Salem’s Lot.

Action was requested for tonight, so I ended up finding what feels like the spiritual successor to Heat. For many folks, this will probably sound like a great thing. The other folks probably haven’t heard of it, or are thinking of the unrelated and not as good The Heat Get your cops and robbers costume out and be prepared to play bad cop bad cop, tonight’s we wade into the Den of Thieves.

Remember that one time I did a whole lot of reboot movies as a temporary review theme? Here’s another one that I never did the original one for despite having watched it numerous times. Yeah, sure, we could be doing literally any movie this week - but I’ve been playing a lot of a certain game that involves big armored dudes killing bad guys with fancy guns, so I feel like it’s pretty fitting on top of that. Get ready for some 80’s ultra-violence that somehow spawned an entire line of toys and cartoons, the police have an upgrade and it’s name is RoboCop.

Remember the movie I mentioned last week? Well it’s time for it to get scene. After doing this for years, I’m starting to feel like my somewhat basic way of doing reviews really doesn’t do all the movies I watch justice - but it is what it is. The amount of effort I put into the reviews is as that fine balance of too much more and I’d consider it going over the line and becoming cumbersome - any less and I’d feel like I wasn’t trying enough to merit doing it. Seems a little out of place for me to mention that perhaps, but it in a ways flies in line with tonight’s movie, so we’ll be coming back to that sentiment later. For now, let’s prepare for a movie fresh off the Netflix releases - tonight we visit Rebel Ridge.

Got a movie that I want to watch dropping this month, but it has the audacity to drop on a Friday instead of today when it would line up perfect for a review-watch. Well, that will have to wait for next week so instead I play the game of pulling up a cheese wheel of trialers and making someone else pick which one - and I’m not loosing regardless of what get’s picked. Travel back in your time machines of a video player, tonights about to get a whole lot more muscle-y and action bound. Tonight, someone is about to get a Raw Deal.

Just when you thought it was safe, I have a continued streak of bum luck and decide that I have a fever. Everyone knows there’s only one cure for a fever, and that’s cowbell -but I want some movie-equivalent of a cowbell. Well, cows are pretty dumb animals on average with their moments of understanding, but also can be pretty dangerous, and a bell makes noise, so I guess that mean’s I’m forcing everyone to watch a movie about sonic cows. Haha, nah - I’m just kidding. That’s probably a movie that would be held in higher regard then what i’m about to give everyone an excuse to watch (or re-watch) tonight! Put on your Spider-man outfit, get all those cries of Emilioooooo out of your system and try to do less cocaine than the director - tonight we strap in for Maximum Overdrive.

Fun times tonight, partying down in the Keys and having a lovely time. Everyone is so chill, everyone is so relaxed. It’s totally not going to be utter chaos and fist brawls. I’m sure nobody will start yelling about how it’s not nearly as good as the original or anything like that, no never! Yeah, if you haven’t figured it out yet, we’ll be hitting a flick that I’ve put off for a while, and this will probably be the only time I don’t say it slathered in Peter Griffin stylings - tonight we check out Road House.

Like a good number of folks who end up liking monsters and science fiction, it’s no surprise that I enjoy the Godzilla franchise. Whether it’s dipping my toes into the original Goijra and reading my little eyes out or revisiting my favorite Hesei arc or the absurdity of Final Wars I’m here for it. Heck, you can find my thoughts on a good deal of them here already. I was pretty happy when Netflix ended up finally getting the normal version of tonight’s choice up for watching - so much so I didn’t even wait to do it for here. Now though, they even have the fancy black and white version - so what better excuse do I have to get my thoughts out on this one? Yeah, that’s right, tonight we dive into Godzilla Minus One, Minus Color.
