Zombeavers (2014)
You'll all be damned!
- First time I've seen zombie/mutant beavers in a movie.
- Escalation.
- As amusing as it sounds.
- Puns.
- B-reel.
- Practical effects.
- So dang corny.
- Doesn't take itself too seriously, full circle storytelling.
- Surprisingly good acting.
- Evil little reflective beaver eyes.
- Some will not like gore (essentially zombie-tier violence).
- Some will not like topless ladies and/or maturity level.
- Some will not like over-hammed characters/moments.
- Doggy deaths (one is kind of just implied, and the other sort of makes up for it later on and in the blooper reel before credits).
- Escalation may seem a bit 'crack headed' to some looking for logic.
Bear with this movie (you'll get it if you watch it) and you may be in for fun. Certainly not for the kids, or arguably the wider audience as a whole, I would not be surprised if the fans of the B subsets end up buying a copy of this after checking it out. Stupid fun is what this feels like it wants to be after it finally starts picking up, and by the end you may find that you can really sink your teeth into it. That being said, the general premise really is very similar to the B-horror/slasher type films - so if you can't deal with the aspects of the older ones of those (nudity/raunchy college kids) you'll probably do best to stay clear, despite it's more entertaining aspects. I was worried a little about this one going in, but by the time the it was done I was more than happy I got around to watching it.
